Sharon Public Library: Reuse Project
For over a century, 11 North Main Street has been home to one of Sharon's greatest and most giving historical landmarks—the Sharon Public Library. However, recognizing the evolving needs of our community, a new initiative has emerged to plan for a safer and more environmentally friendly town library. This has prompted a reconsideration of the former library's role. February 28, 2019, marked the inaugural organizational meeting of the town Select Board-elected Library Reuse Committee. Five years later, on July 16, 2024, the Committee issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to seek bids from qualified contractors interested in redeveloping the former library for commercial, residential, or mixed-use purposes.

The Sharon Forward Foundation advocates for community-wide involvement in deciding how to repurpose the former library. We encourage you to explore the Sharon Public Library Reuse Project and discover how you can contribute to shaping the future of Sharon.
